PRODUCT VOLUNTARY RECALL BULLETIN

As part of our commitment to quality and safety Meyer Cookware Australia is issuing a voluntary recall of some of its Raco Branded Deco 1.5L Cordless Dome Kettles, which were manufactured between October 2006 and December 2007. This recall relates to specific batches of this particular design and we emphasize that no other Raco kettles or other products are affected. A potential risk has been identified where the heating element in this product may rupture causing the product to cease working. In extreme cases the element rupture may result in some sparking and a burning smell which may pose a fire risk. If you own a Raco Deco 1.5L Cordless Dome Kettle, please check the four digit batch number located on the underside of the kettle. This number has been inscribed into both the kettle and underside of the base. The four digit code represents the last two digits of the year followed by the week number of that year in which the product was manufactured. The kettles affected are coded from (0640) through to (0752). Kettles produced prior to or after these batch code dates are unaffected by this recall and are perfectly safe to use No injuries or property damage has been reported to our company through the use of this product. Owners of the affected kettles are asked to stop using the kettle and contact the Meyer helpline for further instructions. Even if you have not experienced any problems with your product, we nevertheless ask you to contact the Meyer helpline. Meyer has set up a free phone helpline number: (1800-676-704) Consumers in New Zealand should call: (0800-450-625) The Helpline staff will validate whether you have a product from the affected batches and offer you assistance on how to obtain a refund. Meyer will post out to you a reply paid plastic satchel along with a Consumer Details Slip. Please fill in your details and insert this slip along with the affected product into the Reply Paid Satchel provided. At your convenience please drop this into your nearest Post Office. On receipt we will issue a full refund to you by return mail. For our valued New Zealand consumers we have arranged for pick up of faulty products through local transport couriers rather than the postal system. Again, once we have received the faulty item a refund cheque will be posted out by return mail Meyer takes the safety and quality of its products very seriously and we thank you for your co-operation and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.
